Dear Students,

On August 6th from 10 am to 6 pm, Instructor Fetonti and Instructor Liu will be conducting another round of the popular by demand, NRA Basic Pistol Course.

The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course consists of hands-on classroom and range instruction giving students the know how to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols safely.

Topics covered include:

  • NRA rules for safe gun handling
  • pistol parts and operation
  • ammunition
  • shooting fundamentals
  • range rules
  • different shooting positions
  • cleaning the pistol
  • safe storage and continued opportunities for skill development

Students will also receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure and Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet. After passing the written and range exams, a course completion certificate will be signed and issued. This certificate fulfills many state CCW permit safety course requirements.

*Please note: students attending this course MUST possess a valid New York State pistol permit to participate in the hands-on range component towards the end of the course.

Additional and optional gear to bring to the class are:

  • Your desired pistol(s)
  • At least 100 rounds of ammunition
  • eye and ear protection

Please note: Course price does not include range fees or applicable rentals/ammo/gear. However, RISE is happy to provide a reduced fee for all of this for the attending students.

As an added bonus and a thank you to our military and law enforcement members of the RISE family, we will be offering this course at a discount to our veteran/LEO students.

While this is a basic course that will be primarily focused on the fundamentals of pistol shooting and safety, we understand that our needs and goals of our students are diverse. That said, we will diligently work with you to tailor a customized training regimen on top of the course curriculum.
